Octane Fitness

Our Work

Product Visionaries Then

Octane Fitness was founded in 2001 by Dennis Lee and Tim Porth, two fitness industry veterans and entrepreneurs. Their mission was to make the best elliptical machines in the world.

Category Leaders Today

Currently, Octane elliptical machines can be found in homes and commercial gyms around the world. Their product line has expanded to include Airdyne bikes and cloud-based workout tracking.

Background Solution

Ranks Joined

Octane was acquired by Nautilus, Inc. in early 2016, joining a prestigious portfolio of brands, including Schwinn®, Bowflex®, TreadClimber®, and others.

New Connections

In order to enjoy the operational efficiencies of their new parent company, Octane tapped BlueEarth to integrate their website with Nautilus’ infrastructure.

Opportunity Results

Ready for a Challenge

Having developed the Octane website and the technology powering Octane’s SmartLink™ workout tracking system, BlueEarth was at the ready for this new challenge.

Streamlining eCommerce

Octane’s eCommerce operations were modified to estimate taxes with a new API, switch to a new payment gateway, and allow orders to export automatically to a new ERP system.

WordPress To The Max

BlueEarth really pushed WordPress to its limits with this site. So much so that the site has been featured at multiple WordCamp development conferences as an example of what WordPress can do at its extremes.

A Toned Website

The Octane buying experience received great feedback from both dealers and customers who purchased products. Moving to an open source CMS adds flexibility and allows Octane Fitness to quickly and easily update their website to ensure a superior customer experience.
